Providing Long-Term Care Facilities with Mental Health Services
In 2016, UBHS expanded our service delivery to address the unique mental health needs of residents at skilled nursing facilities. Today, we have a team of psychiatric nurse practitioners offering evaluations and medication management services in over seventy nursing facilities. Our team work closely with administrators, director of nursing, and social services director to formulate care plans for patients.
While our team provides routine care for patients meeting criteria for treatment, we also respond to the needs of facilities requiring emergency care outside of regularly scheduled visits.
Further supporting our psychiatric services in the facilities, in many locations we also have licensed clinical social workers and licensed psychologists providing face-to-face therapy services to patients who have the cognitive capacity and therapeutic goals that are appropriate for counseling.
Our team of providers, leadership and administrative staff work hand in hand with the facilities to improve the lives of the residents and the community at large by addressing the unique mental health needs found in our in senior populations.
